Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster commented on the Sevilla match shortly after the final whistle. The German admitted his team didn't perform as he had hoped and spoke highly of Sevilla's efforts.

I don't know. I think the team is responsible, but we can't make any excuses because it's not worth it. The past is in the past and we have to begin preparing fo the next match.

It looks that way. But that's just a side note. They played great today.

What changed between Wednesday's match and this one?
The opponent was a lot different. You can't compare the Valencia situation, which entailed several problems and a coaching change, to that of Sevilla. We knew we were up against a much more aggressive team than the Valencia we played on Wednesday, especially when a victory would put Sevilla back among the first tier teams. We saw the Sevilla that everyone is used to seeing. I am sure they will wreak havoc for many teams.

Are Sevilla title contenders?
They always have been because it's still so early. They have a lot of time to gain ground and a team capable of doing just that. They have gone through some tough patches, but they've come out on top. I am sure they'll finish among the best this year.
